solar PV installer
Solar PV Panels

From 1 October, the City of Cape Town requires all solar PV and inverter installations to be registered.  (https://www.news24.com/news24/tech-and-trends/news/eskom-starts-prepaid-electricity-meter-update-10-years-after-finding-out-they-will-go-dark-in-2024-20230703). The highlights the need for an approved installer to correctly install and register all new (and existing) Solar PV and inverter systems. Solar PV and inverters are classified as one form of Small-Scale Embedded Generation (SSEG) system.

The City of Cape Town may impose penalties for systems that have not been registered. Although there is no charge to register your system, the registration needs to be done by a licensed and approved installer – like Procon Electrical.
